New to the quality improvement (QI) framework? These presentations were created to describe basic QI terms, concepts, and practices, provide templates for common QI tools, and increase one's understanding of how to successfully implement a QI project.

PNQIN utilizes the Model for Improvement in our quality improvement initiatives. Developed by the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI), this model asks three questions:

  1. What are we trying to accomplish?
  2. How will we know that a change is an improvement?
  3. What changes can we make that will result in improvement?

After answering these questions, then we employ Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles for small, rapid-cycle tests of change.
