SPEAK UP Ambassador May 2024 Flyer

It is unacceptable that Black and Indigenous people are more likely than people from other races to die or suffer injuries during pregnancy and childbirth. The SPEAK UP Ambassador™ Implicit and Explicit Racial Bias Education outlines strategies to help individuals and groups dismantle racism, provide quality equitable care, and reduce health disparities. The education is provided via a live virtual interactive format.

The SPEAK UP Ambassador Course is the next step on the Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement’s SPEAK UP Action Pathway challenging participants to enhance their SPEAK UP Action Plans by engaging in deeper discussions and learning regarding how to mitigate the lingering effects of racism to improve Black maternal outcomes.

During this day-long interactive session, participants will expand their expertise in how to become allies and leaders working to dismantle racism with the overarching goal of providing equitable care and eliminating health disparities using quality improvement methods and tools. The SPEAK UP Ambassador™ Implicit and Explicit Racial Bias is a virtual education event offered on one day for six hours via Zoom. Attendance for the entire day is mandatory. Please click  here to download a copy of the conference brochure and agenda.
