AIM Hypertension Bundle – Timely Treatment
May 6th, 2025
The inaugural AIM Sustainment Webinar covered Timely Treatment, as follow-up from of our previously implemented AIM Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy Bundle. This webinar served as a platform for discussion between our AIM Sustainment Lead, Dr. Malavika Prabhu and two Boston-area teams to cover how best to tackle timely treatment of severe hypertension in pregnant patients. We heard from Kimberley Campbell, Katie Clarke, and Susan Crafts from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Allisyn Brady and Melissa Ethier from Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) about their vast knowledge, experiences, and resources for timely treatment of severe hypertension! It was fantastic to hear how two different sized hospitals use both similar and different strategies to achieve a higher standard of care for their patients.

AIM Hypertension Bundle – Scheduling Postpartum Blood Pressure Checks
August 20th, 2025
The second AIM Sustainment Webinar covered Scheduling of Postpartum Blood Pressure Checks. Dr. Malavika Prabhu moderated a discussion between two hospital teams that are in different stages of implementation of a remote blood pressure monitoring (RBPM) program. RBPM allows patients to measure their blood pressure at home and digitally transmit their readings to their healthcare providers, an innovative solution that increases patients’ agency in their care and provides more flexibility for postpartum people who are healing from childbirth and adjusting to life with a new baby. We heard from Katie Barker from Baystate Medical Center, which has an established (5 years) RBPM program and has achieved a less than 1% readmission rate for hypertensive disorders, and Janet Bell and Sophia DeLevie-Orey from Massachusetts General Hospital, who shared their experiences so far after launching their RBPM program (called Home Safe) earlier in 2025.
