September 19, 2022: CDC Releases Research Article Showing that more than 80% of Pregnancy-Related Deaths are Preventable
Authors investigated data from 36 states’ Maternal Mortality Review Committees from 2017-2019. These state or local committees are multidisiplinary and pursue an in-depth review of deaths of people during or within a year of pregnancy to determine if the death was pregnancy-related and future recommendations. From that data, authors investigate the demographics of the people who have fallen victim.
